One very hot summer day, a crow was flying over the dry fields. He was so thirsty!
He flew and flew. The ponds were dry and the streams were empty. Where could he find a drink?
At last he spotted a clay pot under a tree. He flew down, hoping there was water inside.
There was a little water at the very bottom, but his beak could not reach it.
He did not give up. He looked around and saw a pile of small pebbles. He had an idea!
He dropped a pebble into the pot. Plop! Then another, and another. Slowly, the water began to rise.
Pebble by pebble, the water came up to the top. The crow drank and drank until he was happy.
Where there is a will, there is a way. Keep thinking and keep trying, even when a problem looks hard.
Ask your child: what would you have done? In Hindi this story is called Pyaasa Kauwa, the thirsty crow.
